NIGHTCLUB EXCLUSIVE TO TOWN'S TEENAGERS
A nightclub for teenagers is to open on Herne Bay seafront with the blessing of police and community officers.
Teen Fusion will launch at Talk Nightclub in Central Parade on Friday, July 4, and be held on the frist Friday of every month.
The nights will last from 7pm until 10pm and doors will be open exclusively to 13 to 17 year olds. The teen nights have been organised by the districts Safer Community Partnership that links Kent Police and the city council. The key commitment of the partnership is to reduce crime and disorder in the district.
Entry to Teen Fusion will be £4 with a flyer £6 without. Flyers will be available in schools and youth clubs and at city council Street Runner sessions in Herne Bay and Whitsable. These will also list information such as rules and dress code. Doors open at 6:15pm for a 7pm start on launch night. There will be restricted admission after 8pm and a no re-entry policy. Parent will be able to pick up from the Neptune Car Park opposite.

FIRM'S CASH GIFT SAVES PARTY ON THE PROM

This year's Party on the Prom, a highlight of Deal Regatta Week, will go ahead after a £2000 donation was made.
FS Leisure, who run RIVALS Nightclub and Teen Fusion in Queen Street, made the generous gesture after the fate of the party hung in the balance. In january the Mercury reported the event, which includes Live Music, Royal Artillery parachute displays, RNLI lifeboat shows and fireworks, would not go ahead after last year's bad weather left the Regatta Association with a £2000 shortfall.
John Trickery, chairman of Deal, Walmer and Kingsdown Regatta Committee said: "We are delighted that the Party on the Prom will take place. We thank FS Leisure for their kind donation. It is fantastic news. It will be a great event."
The party on the prom is on July 30th.
